International Women’s Day 8th March 2020

March 8, 2020

An equal world is an enabled world!

On February 28, 1909, German revolutionary Clara Zetkin proposed at the 1910 International Socialist Woman’s Conference that 8th March be honoured as a day annually in memory of working women.

In some places, it is a day of protest; in others, it is a day of celebration and all it brings, to celebrate the achievements of women globally.

A theme is adopted every year in order to strengthen the message and unify awareness.

This year the theme is #EachforEqual  which means together we can help create a more gender equal world.

There is no single driving force or individual but a collective, who care, who want to see women strive to be the best they can be, to share, support and RISE each other up.

The IWD organisers for the event add “The race is on for the gender equal boardroom, a gender equal government, gender equal media coverage, gender equal workplaces, gender equal sports coverage, more gender equality in health and wealth so let’s make it happen.”

You can get involved by sharing your images, videos, editing, press releases and creative work by using the hashtags #IWD2020 and #EachforEqual you can also search for events local to you
